![]() ![]() These did not work for me, if anything they reversed it, I would say they made me feel weird enough to stay awake. ![]() After discussing it with my doctor he suggested sleep aids (over the counter). I was having the same issues as you, i could NOT wake up when i wanted to, or go to bed at a decent hour. So i decided to take the next available dayshift and luckily got it pretty quickly. But as time went on i found myself not hanging out with friends, and barely talking to my family due to my work hours. I could go to the 24 hour walmart and totally ignore daytime shopping. I could jump online and play games ALL night. At first it sucked but as time went on i grew to love it. Keep you wake time consistent and your sleep time should start to fall in line. Don't let when you go to bed too late dictate when you get up. You'll want to sleep at a normal time the next night. If you get 3 or 4 hours of sleep one night, so be it. Now that I have my days I find it easy to fall back into the late nights. On my extending time off I would wake up at 6am and love the day time. That push to 7am is what made nights a killer. If I didn't have a job I would stay up until 4 and 5am. Before working nights I was a bit of a night owl. Some of it is just old fashion discipline. You are so used to staying up that it is easy to let the night take you. In my mind it makes me want to get the sleep and night while I can get it. Two, I know at night that that sun is coming. One, when I try to sleep in, I get a harsh blast of rays in my face to make me want to get up and away from it. The first thing I did was remove my blackout curtains. I am now on the day shift as of 6 months ago. I'm not sure why people are suggesting blackout curtains. The ultimate goal is to never sleep in again. You can always turn your alarm off and let your body wake you up if you feel you need a break. Be consistent! The more days you keep these rules, the cooler you are.If you aren't using an alarm clock, you must immediately get out of bed when you first notice you wake up (exceptions allowed if you wake up much too early). When the alarm goes off, you must immediately get out of bed and not go back to sleep.Take the GetOutOfBed pledge: stop sleeping in and reclaim more precious waking hours! For people who have a hard time getting out of bed, getting good sleep, or just want to improve their sleep-or all of the above! ![]()
